The application must describe what the works concern, where the works will be carried out, and the period during which the work is planned to take place. Relevant documentation, such as map extracts, drawings, method statements or other information describing the works, should be attached.

Works must not commence until the application has been processed and the necessary permission has been granted.

Application for works at sea

Information

Application for permission pursuant to the Act relating to Ports and Fairways of 21 June 2019

Link to the Act

Works that may affect safety, navigation or defence and emergency preparedness interests in the fairway may not be established without permission. Works include installations, interventions in nature and activities. Permission may not be granted for works that would conflict with provisions laid down in or pursuant to this Act, cf. the Act relating to Ports and Fairways of 21 June 2019, Section 14, first paragraph.

The works may also be subject to application to the municipality under the Planning and Building Act. We remind applicants that the project owner is responsible for ensuring that all necessary permissions are in place before the works can be carried out.

Pursuant to Section 14, fourth paragraph of the Act relating to Ports and Fairways, Hammerfest Havn KF may not grant permission contrary to adopted land-use plans. This means that if the works require dispensation from an adopted land-use plan, the dispensation case must be processed by the municipality.

The following documents must be attached to the application:

  • Map extract / site plan at a scale of 1:1000 or 1:500, showing the location of the works in the fairway and the nearest surroundings, including quays, docks and neighbouring properties.
The works must be drawn in at the same scale as the map extract. Larger works requiring another scale should be drawn into a combined map extract.
  • Documentation showing that the works comply with adopted land-use plans / zoning plans, or, where applicable, the municipality’s dispensation decision in the case.
Email correspondence may be sufficient documentation. It is not sufficient to attach a printout of the land-use plan.
